☠️ Toxic Exposure & Poisoning
Common Toxins
- Chocolate

- Rodenticides
- Toxic plants
What To Do
- Remove access to the toxin.
- Determine what was consumed.
- Estimate the amount.
- Contact your veterinarian immediately.
- Follow professional instructions.
⚠️ Do not induce vomiting unless directed by a veterinary professional.
⚡ Seizures
During a Seizure
✔ Stay calm
✔ Move furniture and hazards away
✔ Keep other pets and children back
✔ Time the seizure
✔ Dim lights and reduce noise
Do NOT
✘ Hold your dog's tongue
✘ Put hands near the mouth
✘ Attempt to restrain your dog
Emergency Care Needed If
- Seizure lasts more than 5 minutes
- Multiple seizures occur
- Recovery is abnormal

Signs
- Gagging
- Pawing at mouth
- Excessive drooling
- Distress
- Difficulty breathing
What To Do
- Stay calm.
- Open the mouth carefully if safe.
- Check for visible objects.
- Remove only if easily accessible.
- Seek emergency veterinary care immediately.

Signs
- Excessive panting
- Bright red gums
- Weakness
- Vomiting
- Collapse
Immediate Action
✔ Move to shade or air conditioning
✔ Offer cool water
✔ Apply cool water to paws, groin, and belly
✔ Transport to a veterinarian immediately

- Flush with saline solution.
- Apply light pressure if bleeding.
- Cover with clean gauze.
- Monitor for infection.
