🌿 F1 (First Generation Doodle)

Genetics:
50% Retriever or Mountain Dog or Cocker Spaniel
50% Poodle

✨ Coat & Appearance

• Loose wave or loose curl
• Fluffy, shaggy look
• Classic doodle face
• Soft, natural texture
• Shorter legs
• Thicker body mass / more muscle

This is the iconic “classic doodle” look that many families fall in love with.

🐾 Shedding

• No visible shedding in properly bred F1 puppies
• Light dander
• Great for most families wanting low shed

💛 Why We Love F1

At Lakewood Ranch, our F1s are predictable when bred from the right lines.
We find F2 and F3 generations can become less predictable in coat and structure, which is why we prefer strong, well-bred F1 and F1B pairings.

Approximately 75% Poodle / 25% Retriever or Spaniel

(“B” stands for backcross.)
